Positive Beginnings

Saturday finish, with lots of runner friends' encouragement (incl. Jamie Rivers, 2-time Dipsea Race Champion)
Since my first blog post and 'inaugural' run October 22, I've run 4 times -- cautiously.

Saturday I ran with the Mountain Home group nearly 8 miles on the trails, on a magnificent sunny clear-view day on Mt. Tamalpais. Though not yet there ('recovery' pang as I started) -- but there's beginning reason for optimism that I will be able to run again.

Sunday I did a road biking loop from the house heading east and on park roads in my 'backyard' -- a 25 mile course with 2,600 feet of elevation gain (and loss), in 2 hours 11 minutes. Solo ride, at my own pace -- but leg felt OK. Other than sometimes standing while climbing, more often than not, no 'pain' from biking.

In last 10 days, I've twice swam 2,000 yards (1.1 mile) in 6 a.m. workouts in the community pool, slowly (~54 minutes) -- though careful with kicking (occasional healing reminder).

Just 3 runs a week for now: Saturday Mountain Home run, Tuesday Pelican Inn evening run and Thursday early morning a recovery run in backyard Tilden & Wildcat Canyon Parks.

Thankful for each and every one of them!
